About the role

  • Design, develop, code, test, debug and maintain software for the System.
  • Work in areas such as equipment or software design, engineering evaluation or test, configuration management, statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Work with users to define existing or new system scope and objectives.
  • Provide analytical support and technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases.
  • Plan and schedule new application systems projects including objectives, time frames, costs, and manpower requirements.
  • Identify and document hazards within software systems using analysis tools and techniques.
  • Review and evaluate systems and software for adherence to government or commercial directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software and systems safety.
  • Confirm design mitigations are captured in design documentation and verify implementation.
  • Provide basic design, build or maintenance of software using authoring or scripting languages and tools.
  • Identify and correct problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback.
  • Evaluate code to ensure validity, industry standards compliance and compatibility with devices or operating systems.
  • Support Defense Business System for US Government client; remote based out of Cleveland, OH with occasional onsite visits (two to three times per year).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development and/or related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of COBOL, CICS, JCL, TSO, Rexx, ISPF, VSAM, IDCAMS, CA-Librarian and CA-InterTest for CICS.
  • Prior experience supporting Payment applications is a plus.
  • Experience utilizing Agile methodology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain DoD Public Trust clearance.
