About the role
- Design, develop, code, test, debug and maintain software for the System.
- Work in areas such as equipment or software design, engineering evaluation or test, configuration management, statistical analysis and modeling.
- Work with users to define existing or new system scope and objectives.
- Provide analytical support and technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases.
- Plan and schedule new application systems projects including objectives, time frames, costs, and manpower requirements.
- Identify and document hazards within software systems using analysis tools and techniques.
- Review and evaluate systems and software for adherence to government or commercial directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software and systems safety.
- Confirm design mitigations are captured in design documentation and verify implementation.
- Provide basic design, build or maintenance of software using authoring or scripting languages and tools.
- Identify and correct problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback.
- Evaluate code to ensure validity, industry standards compliance and compatibility with devices or operating systems.
- Support Defense Business System for US Government client; remote based out of Cleveland, OH with occasional onsite visits (two to three times per year).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required.
- 5+ years of experience in software development and/or related field.
- Strong working knowledge of COBOL, CICS, JCL, TSO, Rexx, ISPF, VSAM, IDCAMS, CA-Librarian and CA-InterTest for CICS.
- Prior experience supporting Payment applications is a plus.
- Experience utilizing Agile methodology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain DoD Public Trust clearance.
