About the role
- Review and release transactions on system hold; analyze reasons for holds and follow escalation paths
- Ensure all import/export transactions comply with local, national, and international customs regulations
- Prepare, review, and submit customs documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, etc.)
- Liaise with internal teams and shipment requestors to facilitate timely release of shipments and resolve discrepancies
- Identify compliance risks and take corrective actions to mitigate risk and avoid penalties or delays
- Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline logistics operations and reduce TAT
- Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and business partners to ensure smooth cross-border movement of goods
Requirements
- 5-6 years of experience in Logistics operations, customs operations, and import/export processes (stated earlier)
- 3-4 years of hands-on experience in customs operations, import/export documentation, or international trade (Qualifications section)
- Strong understanding of customs documentation, INCOTERMS, Restricted Party List procedures, HTS Classification, and Customs regulations
- Knowledge of HTS & ECCN is a plus
- Proficiency in Oracle GTM software
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail when processing documents and ensuring compliance
