Position Summary The Assistant Director, Community Engagement, “In St. Louis, For St. Louis” Initiative – Chancellor’s Office plays an important role in building and maintaining strong relationships with community members, stakeholders, partner organizations, and local leaders to carry out the vision of the university’s “In St. Louis, For St. Louis” commitment. This role will have a particular focus on engaging community-based organizations and neighborhood initiatives. The Assistant Director will be instrumental in facilitating community events, workshops, and programs that promote collaboration, education, and dialogue across key community organizations. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Building Community Relationships Initiates and maintains relationships with community members, stakeholders, and partner organizations. This involves networking, attending community events, and reaching out to key individuals. Acts as a liaison between "In St. Louis, For St. Louis" Initiative and the community, gathering feedback, suggestions, and concerns from community members and conveying them to relevant departments or decision-makers within the organization. Represents WashU at community meetings, forums, and events, articulating our mission and fostering positive relationships. Organizing Events and Program Organizes and facilitates community forums, events, workshops, and programs that promote collaboration, education, and dialogue across the St. Louis Initiatives key audiences including "Grounds for Connection:, a signature event of the initiative. Plans and executes events, workshops, and programs that bring the community together and address their needs and interests. Recruits volunteers for various projects and initiatives. Evaluation and Reporting Assesses the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives through data collection, surveys, and feedback mechanisms. Conduct consistent weekly follow-up with internal and external partners; track meeting notes and maintain detailed documentation to monitor relationship development, identify opportunities for collaboration, and inform regular reporting. Clinical Research

• Participates in recruitment of study participants; screens for eligibility and obtains informed consent

Analyst

• Prepare, review and negotiate outgoing subagreements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and legal framework and vast compliance rules affecting sponsored research agreements.
• Provide detail-oriented review of SUBSystem Required Items while enforcing compliance with university, school and external agency policies related to outgoing subawards.
• Analyze sponsored research awards received from external funding agencies for required flow down terms, and active assurances (animals, humans, conflict of interest, etc.) to prepare appropriate outgoing subaward agreements.
• Manage workload using status transparency for prioritization.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of all subawards to OSRS Signing Official for approval.

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Accounting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis on capital project related activities.
• Calculating and recording capitalized interest on construction projects, as well as internal fees charged on projects funded by external debt.
• Calculating and recording monthly debt draws; includes preparation of draw requests sent to bond trustees.
• Ensure compliance with external debt funding requirements and regulations.
• Analysis and reporting on related data; presenting and summarizing data in a variety of ways.
• Requires cross-functional communication and collaboration with the Treasury Office and General Accounting, as well as various areas with capital project management responsibilities.
• Accounting and reporting related to FASB ASC 410-20 (relates to conditional asset retirement obligations related to the remediation of hazardous materials).
• Accounting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis for repair and renovation construction projects, including calculating annual required contributions by building and occupancy and processing reserve transfer and processing monthly funding transfers based on project spending; reporting and analysis on repair and renovation reserve activities.
• Develops or/or enhances documentation and processes; identifies and implements efficiencies; make recommendations for enhanced reporting and delivery of relevant data to leadership across the university.
• Responsible for all capital project funding activities within Workday’s capital project functional area; includes creating and maintaining funding sources; ensuring appropriate funding approvals have been received; reporting upon over spent projects.
• Through training and hands-on experience becomes a subject matter expert over Workday functionality; develops or/or enhances documentation and processes; identifies and implements efficiencies.
• Handles special requests and projects involving complex accounting transactions and concepts across financial systems; identify, gather, assess, and analyze data used for making decisions and make decisions where appropriate, includes working with historical cost to provide projections as needed; incorporate data and ideas into either formal or informal reports, presenting resolution to issues or problems; learn/stay engaged in utilizing the advances in financial systems to ensure effective and efficient delivery of information.

Financial Accounting Analyst - Fixed Asset & Capital Projects Accounting

Collections

• Communicates policies and educates staff on billing issues to promote efficient flow of billing process.
• Counsels patients on financial and other issues regarding accounts management.

• Works with pharmacy for appropriate drug pricing when not available in system.

Systems Engineer

• Leads, directs and oversees School Level financial objectives including, but not limited to: Integrations – Maintain, manage, and analyze Epic – Workday Integration as it relates to clinical revenues including all related reporting and revenue recognition requirements.
• Net Revenue – Manage Kodiak Revenue Cycle Analytics (RCA) tool on daily and monthly basis to calculate AR valuation, along with producing analysis on Patient Net Revenue projections.
• Accounting – Complete reconciliation related to Patient Revenues.
• Review the integrity and quality of general ledger reporting, including the Foundation Data Model, preparing needed journal entries, and auditing of financial data.
