About the role
- Engage with Walmart business leaders to develop M&A strategy, identify and assess potential inorganic growth opportunities, and build consensus
- Develop and manage relationships with investment banking, private equity, and venture capital investors in retail, digital media, supply chain, and emerging technologies
- Lead all transaction-related financial modeling and valuation analysis to support deal execution
- Manage the diligence process by partnering with internal teams (legal, accounting, tax) and external advisors
- Build presentations for senior leadership that convey effective narratives, outline strategic trade-offs, and drive executive decision-making
- Support the Integration/Separation team on post-close planning and execution
- Work on transformative deals across Walmart U.S., Sam’s Club, and Walmart International and collaborate with business and functional leaders to deliver impactful results
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field and 3 years’ experience in Merger & Acquisitions, Investment Banking, Business Development, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in Merger & Acquisitions, Investment Banking, Business Development, Engineering, or related area
- Experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or a related field with a strong track record in M&A execution
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
- Ability to analyze complex transactions and present clear recommendations
- Strong relationship management skills with experience engaging both internal stakeholders and external partners
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of building compelling narratives for senior executives
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on driving results and supporting team success
- Preferred: Leading cross-functional teams
- Preferred: Master's degree or higher in Business, Engineering, or related field
- Preferred: Mergers and Acquisitions experience
