Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores and providing feedback (Tour-to-Teach).
Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising and company direction; introduce and lead company change efforts.
Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards using the One Best Way (OBW) service model and manage customer service initiatives and community outreach.
Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing and evaluating P&L statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, controlling expenses, and indexing expenses to sales.
Monitor merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, operational processes, and develop action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
Provide supervision and development for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset.
Coordinate, complete and oversee job-related activities by developing relationships with stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, identifying goals, building accountability and measuring progress.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, support company mission, values, ethics and integrity, and implement related action plans.
Promote Respect the Individual, Act with Integrity, Serve Our Customers and Members, and Strive for Excellence values in daily operations.
Requirements
2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required; for facilities that sell only ammunition, a state issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
Preferred: Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
Preferred: General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
