Voltus is hiring a smart, detail-oriented regulatory intern with a willingness to learn fast within highly complex subject areas.
Must have strong writing and project-management skills and an interest in chasing down information to its source for reference in written regulatory and legal advocacy and other public-facing documents.
You will work on a small team but collaborate widely across the organization.
Assignments will be diverse but concrete and generally fixed in scope and duration rather than open-ended.
Most of your time will be spent not on standalone projects but in supporting teammates within larger initiatives.
For example, you may be asked to add citations, proofread or fact-check, or to audit or augment our project tracking database.
Expect frequent but friendly feedback to ensure alignment, with your feedback to your manager or teammates also welcome.
You will gain knowledge of the energy industry, regulatory advocacy, administrative law, and the complex world of energy market regulation.
This role is well-suited to a law student curious about a career in regulatory work or the clean energy industry.
This internship can be full- or part-time; we will work with your schedule. Voltans work remotely across many time zones, with limited co-working space available in New York and Boston. The job can be social as per your preference; expect bright, friendly, and helpful colleagues.
Requirements
Strong writing skills and excellent editing and formatting skills with emphasis placed on accuracy, precision, and consistency.
Experience using formal, preferably legal citation styles.
Strong research skills without overreliance on AI tools.
Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task; comfort with collaborative work-tracking platforms like Monday.com a plus. The team works broadly over many initiatives simultaneously, and a part of the role will be administrative assistance.
Current student or recent graduate of a Law or Policy advanced degree (preferred).
