Manage and coordinates all activities of procurement, inventory control, material movement, stockroom, and shipping/receiving
Focus on controlling costs, improving quality, and ensuring product availability; examine procedures for streamlining distribution
Develop and implement analytical tools and tactics to optimize inventory investment per management strategy
Review, plan, and maintain ordering parameters and inventory levels for new and existing manufactured parts
Monitor and procure operational supplies (materials, gages, expendable tooling, supplies, and services) and ensure purchases are properly executed and documented
Provide management oversight for product shipment and stockroom operations including processing, packaging, receiving, storing, distribution, shipment and coordination of finished goods
Develop methods and processes to ensure material availability, timely delivery, and quality of service within established timeframes and budgets
Establish preferred supplier selection criteria; evaluate supplier performance for price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance
Establish and implement standard/automated re-order procedures; develop crisis management and supplier backup contingency programs
Negotiate long term contracts in coordination with company policies and monitor PO status for timely delivery domestically and internationally
Prepare inventory reports, bid specifications, and lists of required materials to meet sales and manufacturing requirements
Expedite production materials as necessary and maintain Purchase Order data to reflect supplier commitments
Communicate quality and service requirements and provide oversight of inventory audits; manage cycle counting and variance reporting
Provide timely updates to Sr. Director Operations on production, supply chain, and quality related issues; deliver progress reports and schedule adjustments
Continuously drive process improvements and work with Sr. Director Operations to develop policies and procedures
Manage departmental staff and budget, coordinate buyers and support staff, conduct performance appraisals, and develop training plans
Ensure adherence to safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices; ERP and inventory management; production and processing (knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture goods)
Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and global sourcing (preferred)
Strong hands-on experience supervising in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
Excellent analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
Strong multi-tasking ability and detail orientation
High degree of organization and planning skills
Strong leadership, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage a team, develop people and work collaboratively across functions
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

BS/BA degree in a relevant discipline is required; APICS or ISM certification preferred; a combination of education and experience may be considered
Minimum of 8 years similar and progressive experience within an electro-mechanical manufacturing facility, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and lift more than 30 lbs with assistance
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment near moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles (PPE required)
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to distinguish colors
Ability to operate telephones and computer hardware and software, including keyboard and 10-key
