About the role
- Design, plan, and oversee T&D projects including substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems
- Conduct system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination) to ensure reliability and compliance
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
- Collaborate with utility partners, contractors, and internal teams on project execution
- Ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, and applicable regulatory standards
- Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of T&D systems
- Provide technical expertise for upgrades, expansions, and system resilience initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Experience in transmission and/or distribution engineering
- Proficiency with PLS-CADD, CYME, ETAP, or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of utility standards, codes, and industry best practices
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds of equipment or materials
- Willingness to work in both office and field environments, including substations, construction sites, and outdoor conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, or climb for extended periods when visiting project sites
- Comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces as required by project needs
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to project locations
