About the role

  • Assist with structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures using hand calculations and structural analysis software; Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to meet project goals; Prepare design calculations, drawings, and technical reports; Review requests for engineering services to determine adequacy of provided information; Review building/bridge structures and foundations for existing and proposed uses; Review Quality Assurance (QA) and perform final review on structural analysis reports; Generate required engineering reports; Conduct site visits and assist with field inspections to verify construction compliance; Answer structure-related inquiries from internal and external customers; Keep abreast of new technical methods and developments related to structural engineering; Complete specialized engineering assignments requiring complex calculations; Ensure accurate project status reporting to facilitate accurate project tracking; Support preparation of design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards; Provide construction engineering support to contractors and troubleshoot issues during project execution; Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across the company and contribute to innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge including, but not limited to, Revit, RISA, Tedds, and ETABS; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Fundamental knowledge of structural engineering principles and building materials; Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC, etc.); Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited institution; 0-2 years of structural engineering drafting experience; 1 year of experience drafting with AutoCAD or Revit preferred; EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification or ability to obtain is preferred.
