Bridge Load Rating Retrofit Design and Repair Detailing
Provide quality control of construction documents
Assisting and Training Early and Mid-Career professionals in condition assessments and repair/retrofit design
Contribute as required as a designer/analyst
Structural value engineering, third party design and constructability review, and risk assessment
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural engineering focus (required)
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) (preferred)
Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) (preferred)
Professional registration as a Structural Engineer (S.E.) (preferred)
At least 5 years (7+ preferred) directly relevant experience in a design environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
Minimum 2 years experience serving as a team leader or primary structural inspector (required)
Experience in the inspection of concrete, timber, and steel structures (required)
Experience in repair/retrofit design of concrete, steel, and timber structures (required)
Registered Bridge Inspection Team Leader (preferred)
Successful completion of the FHWA-NHI-130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course (preferred)
Bridge Load Rating experience (preferred)
The ability to sit for the NCEES 20-Hour Structural Engineering exam within two years of hire (preferred)
Knowledge of relevant structural engineering design and detailing software (AASHTOWare, RISA, ETABS, RAM, SAP2000, SAFE, GSA, etc.) (required)
Knowledge of design collaboration software (Bluebeam Studio), and operation of CAD/VDC/BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) (preferred)
Experience working within the construction sector or performing design work for contractors/construction managers (preferred)
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, and meeting strict deadlines (required)
Current OSHA 10-hr training (preferred)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization.
