About the role
- Partner with business leaders to improve operational visibility and support externally-facing reports to clients
- Develop knowledge and expertise around the data tables across all areas of the business
- Write SQL queries, build dashboards, and conduct ad hoc analysis to help operational leaders understand business performance and identify root causes
- Assist with third-party audit, exam, and regulatory reporting by supporting timelines, contributing to data QA, and preparing clear outputs for partners and regulators
- Support the maintenance and improvement of Valon’s SLA reporting process
- Collaborate with other data analysts and data engineers to recommend and implement improvements to data models and contribute to scalable solutions that meet Valon’s data needs
Requirements
- 4–7 years of full-time work experience in data analytics or business intelligence, ideally at a mortgage servicer, financial institution, or other regulated industry
- Strong proficiency in SQL (Python skills a plus)
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel
- Experience with data visualization tools (Hex, Looker, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a willingness to learn quickly
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional data team members
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
