Ensure compliance with reporting requirements, including the preparation of interim and annual financial statements.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, statements of changes in equity, and footnotes.
Coordinate and manage the external audit process, acting as a main point of contact for external auditors.
Assist in the preparation and review of management reports generated from Company financial statements for other Finance functions (e.g., CFO, FP&A, Investor Relations) critical to the corporate decision making process.
Assist with developing and maintaining robust internal controls over financial reporting.
Research and interpret complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and other applicable standards.
Provide guidance and draft memos on technical accounting matters.
Assist in documentation and maintenance of critical accounting policies and procedures to ensure they reflect current regulations and best practices.
Implement new accounting standards and ensure their proper application across the organization.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes open communication, innovation, and employee engagement. Address team conflicts constructively and in a timely manner as they arise.
Assist the recruiting process with interviewing, selection and onboarding new team members while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align departmental goals with broader organizational strategy. Represent the team in leadership meetings and communicate strategic decisions effectively to direct reports.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing program performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing process optimizations. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the function.
Requirements
Experience working in hotel, hospitality, vacation or similar industry is highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
CPA certification
5+ years of experience in a public accounting firm, or consulting/advisory or public company experience.
In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficiency in technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, equity transactions, capitalized software, and financial instruments.
Prior product and / or program management level experience in a similar industry or field.
Communicates clearly and confidently—whether it's over email, on a video call, or in person—and can build strong connections with both team members and clients.
