Conduct Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 compliance reviews for web properties, identifying and remediating accessibility issues across Drupal and legacy systems.
Perform manual and automated accessibility testing using tools such as Axe, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA, and ANDI, complemented by AI-enabled pixel validation tools.
Collaborate with developers, designers, and content teams to ensure accessibility is integrated into all stages of design, development, and deployment.
Support Agile sprint cycles by participating in feature refinement and accessibility acceptance testing.
Contribute to front-end development in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Twig, and PHP, supporting modernization and accessibility remediation efforts.
Document test results, generate compliance reports, and maintain the DOJ 508 compliance checklist for internal and external review.
Provide accessibility training, guidance, and best practices to development and content teams.
Support integration testing and performance validation using Behat, Gherkin, and New Relic/Splunk monitoring tools.
Partner with federal stakeholders and TrueTandem leadership to align testing, remediation, and reporting with DOJ policies and modernization goals.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3–5 years of experience performing Section 508 or WCAG compliance testing in a web or application development environment.
Hands-on experience with Drupal 9–11 and front-end development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Twig).
Proficiency with accessibility testing tools such as Axe, WAVE, ANDI, Siteimprove, JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
Strong understanding of ARIA roles, semantic markup, and accessible design principles.
Familiarity with Agile software development, DevSecOps, and automated testing practices.
Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
