About the role
- Support planning and delivery of Games-wide security operations covering safety management, risk and emergency planning, and stakeholder coordination.
- Liaise with venues, venue contractors, Games Functional Areas and external partners and stakeholders.
- Assist development of security resource mapping, recruitment, deployment, and training.
- Ensure effective communication and consistency of approach among contributing parties.
- Contribute to Security & Safety Management Plan, Crowd Management Plan, Emergency Management Plan, Risk Management plans, Service Level Agreements, Contingency Plans, and Security Policies & Procedures.
- Collate venue-specific standards, policies and procedures; collate venue Risk Assessments and monitor risk mitigation strategies for consistency and compliance with minimum standards.
- Coordinate integration of security processes with health & safety, transport and logistics, access control, overlay and scheduling teams.
- Coordinate procurement of security infrastructure and equipment aligned with venue plans and Games-wide security strategy.
- Coordinate venue security resource mapping, headcount planning, recruitment, training, deployment and scheduling, including supplier contracting and management.
- Contribute to stakeholder matrices and working groups to establish communication channels, reporting structures and integrated operational planning.
- Work from Glasgow city centre office with required venue visits; role contracted for 40 hours per week with likely shift patterns during the Games operational period.
Requirements
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in supporting and implementing security operational planning for large-scale, multi-venue international sporting events (such as Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games, World Cups, or Expos)
- Experience collaborating directly across a range of functional areas to manage multiple and varied security requests and to collate integrated venue security and emergency management plans.
- Experience in collating and managing large datasets such as workforce schedules.
- Experience in coordinating holistic planning items such as registration, welfare, shift-management, asset distribution and reclaim, and briefing materials to support delivery standards across safety and security work-streams.
- Experience supporting security teams and contractors during live event phases, including facilitating daily briefings, incident management, and coordination with event control rooms.
- Strong team-working and team-integration skills.
