About the role

  • Sales Optimization: – Sales Target Achievement - Meeting or exceeding sales targets for your assigned territory. This involves developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Forecasting and Planning - Developing sales forecasts and strategies for the territory based on historical data, market trends, and customer insights. This helps in aligning sales activities with overall company goals
  • Budget Management - Responsible for managing budgets related to sales activities, including expenses for travel, sales promotions, and customer engagements.
  • Customer Focus: – Develop existing and new client relationships within the territory, to serve as a trusted partner
  • Customer Relationship Management - Building and maintaining strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and other key stakeholders in the pet food supply chain. This includes regular store visits and frequent communication to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Product & Brand Training and Support - Providing training and support to distributors and retailers on product features, benefits, and selling techniques. Ensuring that they have the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively promote and sell Open Farm products.
  • Problem Solving - Addressing customer issues and resolving complaints promptly and effectively. This requires good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams to find solutions
  • Business Development/Operations: – New Business Development - Actively seek out new business opportunities by identifying potential customers and partnerships within the territory. This could involve prospecting, cold calling, and networking.
  • Promotions and Marketing - Working closely with marketing team to execute promotional campaigns, product launches, and other marketing activities within the territory. This may include organizing events, trade shows, and demonstrations
  • Market Analysis and Reporting - Monitoring market & industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to provide insights and recommendations. Regularly reporting sales results, market conditions, and customer feedback to management.
  • Compliance and Ethics - Ensuring that all sales and marketing activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • All other duties, as assigned

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in a related sales role
  • Proven ability to develop and execute territory sales strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and guide strategic plans.
  • Ability to thrive independently and as part of a team.
  • Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong relationship-building ability.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proactive, positive attitude with a passion for pets and the planet.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with sales reporting systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
