About the role

  • Act as technical expert for Trimble Construction products and solutions
  • Understand end customer workflows and educate/train distribution partners
  • Communicate with end customers to understand pain points and design solutions across Trimble portfolio
  • Ensure channel can quote, install and commission solutions
  • Work with sales and technical staff of distribution partners to improve technical selling and after-sales support
  • Collaborate with training department to determine dealer training needs and help develop content
  • Provide on-the-job training and in-field installation/commissioning support
  • Represent Trimble at trade shows and training events
  • Create dealer technical staff report card and update quarterly to guide priorities
  • Reduce escalated support cases by increasing dealer knowledge and shortening beta process

Requirements

  • Demonstrated aptitude for technology
  • Strong technical problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Comfortable speaking to large audiences of varying backgrounds
  • Can articulate the value proposition of Trimble solutions to dealers and customers
  • Can both present and physically demonstrate Trimble solutions to dealers and customers
  • Strong sense of urgency as it relates to customer solutions
  • Strong writing skills, technical writing in particular
  • Physically capable of long hours on construction sites
  • Willingness to travel, +/-50% travel expected
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Provide on the job training in an organized fashion
  • Strong aptitude in construction and/or survey practices
  • Listens to dealers and customers about their needs and provides valuable “voice of customer” back to the Business Area
  • Responsible for identifying technical gaps in the distribution channel and creating a plan to address
  • Represent Trimble during trade shows and training events
  • Assist Trimble sales manager on pre-sales checklist
  • Ensure distributor can commission and support end customer deployments
  • Ability to build effective relationships and work across multiple functions to resolve end-user needs
