About the role
- Responsible for order taking, scheduling, dispatching and customer relations
- Maintain efficient delivery controls through proper scheduling and accurate order entry into the dispatch system
- Resolve transportation conflicts and handle unusual and difficult customer complaints
- Provide customer support to ensure maximum efficiency
- Schedule drivers and deliveries and communicate across departments
- Embrace and enhance a performance based Safety Culture
- Communicate positively with customers and other departments; relentlessly pursue solutions
- Identify and communicate repairs and maintenance of logistics communication equipment
- Reports to the Dispatch Manager; salaried non-exempt position
Requirements
- High School education or equivalent required; secondary education preferred
- Two to four years’ experience in dispatch or logistics required; construction industry experience preferred
- Ability to work well under pressure; previous customer service experience in a high pressure/high volume environment required
- Excellent PC skills, Excel, Outlook, Word; previous experience with Trimble a plus
- Familiar with geographical areas in Northern Virginia
- Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus
- Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime
