About the role

  • Responsible for order taking, scheduling, dispatching and customer relations
  • Maintain efficient delivery controls through proper scheduling and accurate order entry into the dispatch system
  • Resolve transportation conflicts and handle unusual and difficult customer complaints
  • Provide customer support to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Embraces and enhances a performance-based Safety Culture
  • Be positive and upbeat in all communications with customers and other departments
  • Relentlessly pursue a solution to every issue that a customer brings
  • Identify and communicate repairs and maintenance of logistics communication equipment
  • Report to the Dispatch Manager

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent required, secondary education preferred
  • Two to four years’ experience in dispatch or logistics required; construction industry experience preferred
  • Ability to work well under pressure; previous customer service experience in a high pressure/high volume environment required
  • Excellent PC skills, Excel, Outlook, Word; previous experience with Trimble a plus
  • Familiar with geographical areas in Northern Virginia
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime
  • Good telephone and 2-way radio skills; ability to deal with internal and external customers in a courteous and professional manner
