About the role

  • Promote a positive safety culture through leadership by example; perform all work activities following safety policies and procedures
  • Promote and sell cement and aggregate products within market region; maintain and grow current customer base
  • Report to the Regional Sales Manager
  • Attain sales goals for territory volume, selling price, and market share for cement, aggregate and package product/masonry cement
  • Forecast customer and market demand
  • Resolve customer problems and concerns in a timely and effective manner
  • Collaborate to improve marketing, promotion, pricing, service, credit and logistics
  • Promote company brand and overall marketing strategies
  • Create demand and sell organization’s products to potential customers and prospects
  • Proactively recommend and implement actions to maintain market position
  • Develop action plans and create objectives and goals to meet company targets
  • Collaborate with customers as a supplier and strategic business partner
  • Support organization’s growth ambitions of its aggregate business
  • Overnight travel to attend sales meetings, trade conventions and work with customers directly

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum three years proven sales success required
  • Positive attitude; self-starter; good problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license and maintain an excellent driving record acceptable to company insurance
  • Local knowledge of the region
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and reasoning skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • General knowledge of construction materials industry; specific knowledge of cement and aggregate a plus
  • Highly motivated; able to quickly build and maintain positive working relationships
  • Capability to learn and communicate cement product information
  • Good planning and time management skills; demonstrated self-starting behaviors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Strong mathematical ability
  • Willingness to devote time necessary to accomplish strategic goals and objectives
  • Adaptable to change
  • Overnight travel required to attend sales meetings, trade conventions and to work with customers directly
