About the role

  • This role will be focused on Government accounts but could also have some account possibilities into other Strategic Segments as needed
  • Prospect and identify opportunities for Thomson Reuters' online products and services
  • Create and implement plans for the effective coverage of assigned territory
  • Prepare and track the effectiveness of account plans; Forecast sales
  • Generate sales growth by pursuing new prospects, following up on leads from a variety of sources
  • Build relationships with existing customers in support of customer retention strategies
  • Provide client/prospect data for the CRM system
  • Report weekly/monthly on all sales activity, market trends, competitor information, etc.

Requirements

  • A university degree (business or professional) or equivalent business experience
  • Experience selling to the Federal/Provincial Government
  • Ability to develop new customer accounts requiring heavy prospecting, cold calling, closing ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite, utilizing a CRM (such as Salesforce preferred) and overall technical aptitude
  • Knowledge of the legal framework within Canada will be considered an asset
