About the role
- Manager, Development (NH, ME, VT) role in Portland, ME for nonprofit advancing ALS research, care, and advocacy.
- Plan and execute signature fundraising events, support local third-party events, and meet annual income portfolio goal of $500,000.
- Recruit, steward, and retain event committee chairs and members, and collaborate with volunteers and partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, corporate sponsors, vendors, and donors; represent organization at events.
- Coordinate logistics, promotional materials, budgets, and compliance; partner with care services and marketing teams to enhance fundraising and awareness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in fundraising, event management, volunteer development/management, public relations, donor relations, and/or corporate sponsorship cultivation.
- Proficiency with online fundraising platforms, reporting, and data analysis for strategic planning.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and seek input when appropriate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with consistent follow-up.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and use donor databases (such as Salesforce and Blackbaud).
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, Tableau, Greater Giving, or Spekit is a plus.
- Insured driver with access to an insured vehicle for frequent travel throughout the territory.
