About the role
- Provide complete services on laboratory equipment, including repairs, preventative maintenance, installation, and instrument qualifications
- Repair, install, and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment products including incubators, centrifuges, cold storage (refrigerators and freezers), and other equipment as needed
- Schedules and completes detailed preventative maintenance and corrective service to ensure peak uptime of customer equipment
- Provide onsite service training to Biomedical Engineering Technicians (BMET) or advanced operators
- Submit expenses and manage trunk stock inventory in a timely and accurate manner
- Document daily service actions through the company work order database
- Maintains courteous and knowledgeable communication with customers to ensure alignment of all aspects of the service events (status, cost, scheduling, etc.)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in Electronics or Engineering field preferred
- EPA Certification preferred
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in field service, Depot repair, manufacturing facilities or equivalent, servicing medical devices or laboratory equipment, etc is highly preferred
- Strong electronic/electrical and mechanical background preferred
- refrigeration experience a plus
- Experience working with basic test equipment such as DMM, tachometer, temperature devices, etc, and hands-on refrigeration experience preferred
- Ability to operate computers, smartphones, and related software efficiently.
- Effective interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks with minimal direction
- Ability to work independently diagnosing and solving using schematics, diagrams, service manuals, and other technical resources
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving
