Drive investment sourcing, strategic partnerships, and commercial value creation within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Strategic Capital team
Identify emerging companies, structure investment opportunities, and support strategic collaborations to improve Thermo Fisher’s long-term growth
Structure deals, conduct due diligence, and negotiate term sheets
Evaluate and implement high-value deals and strategic collaborations
Nurture relationships and encourage partnerships across biotech, pharma, startups, and venture capital
Generate value for multiple constituents through development of mutually beneficial partnerships
Report into the Head of Strategic Capital (which reports into the Chief Operating Officer) and collaborate across the business
Requirements
10+ years validated experience in venture capital, corporate development, business development, or strategy within life sciences, diagnostics, biotech, or healthcare
Strong understanding of biopharma R&D, diagnostics, life sciences tools, CDMOs, CROs, and emerging healthcare technologies
Consistent track record in investment sourcing, strategic partnerships, and deal execution
Experience structuring deals, conducting due diligence, and negotiating term sheets
Deep industry network across biotech, pharma, startups, and venture capital
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or a related field required; MBA, PhD, or advanced degree preferred
Strong deal-making and financial analysis skills
Ability to synthesize market insights into actionable investment strategies
Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills
Entrepreneurial approach with the ability to drive projects in a fast-paced corporate environment
Drives substantive, high-level conversations with senior leaders and executives
Viewed as a leader and key decision maker with collaborators
Engages and builds strong relationships with key collaborators and colleagues across the business
Recognized as a critical advisor to business leadership
