The MSD Electron Microscopy (EM) business designs, manufactures, and supports the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflow solutions that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.
Territory & Travel: Ideal candidate would live in the Greater Albany, NY area where most of the 50% travel will be spent; other parts of the territory are: Vermont, New Jersey, upstate New York, and Pennsylvania.
How you will make an impact: The purpose of Field Service Engineering function is to provide technical support and assistance to customers in the field.
Field Service Engineers take care of installing, maintaining, fixing, and repairing equipment or systems, ensuring their efficient performance.
They often work directly with customers to address their needs, answer questions, and resolve any issues that may arise.
The ultimate goal is to ensure customer happiness by delivering high-quality service and growing the efficiency and availability of the products / solutions provided.
What you will do: On-site installation of an Electron Microscope within the assigned technology platform.
Champion and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users and company personnel.
Complete and submit field service reports.
Be able to perform Preventative Maintenance on assigned tools, e.g. Helios Hydra , Heilos 5 .
Partner with colleagues to provide and sometimes receive technical mentorship needed to problem-solve systems solutions.
Provide appropriate input in writing updating and correcting various Thermo Fisher system documentation.
Provide recommendations for various reports including identifying and isolating outstanding problems with system.
Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electronics, physics, engineering, computer science or similar field with 5+ years of related experience or 3 years and an advanced degree or equivalent work experience.
