About the role

  • Develop and ensure implementation and operations of security and emergency response plans and procedures for remote production sites
  • Ensure effective coordination with law enforcement, fire, medical, and other emergency resources at all locations and events
  • Conduct briefings; provide advice and recommendations to Senior Staff, Regional Directors, Country Directors and Field Security Coordinators
  • Lead onsite security for emergencies and crisis, make local decisions and manage communication with offsite leadership
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for uniformed contract security officers
  • Approve security and emergency response plans for all events and analyze security risks, issues, and requirements
  • Create and foster partner relationships with law enforcement, fire, and other emergency response entities in all communities where ESPN has events and productions
  • Manage Event Security vendors and venue security services and ensure appropriate security equipment & systems are in place and fully operational
  • Serve as ESPN Security’s Intelligence Officer

Requirements

  • Has a minimum of 5 years' experience with ESPN remote security
  • Has in depth knowledge of remote/temporary facility and event security issues, requirements, and best practices
  • Has working knowledge of police, fire, medical, and other emergency service provider procedures in responding to emergency incidents
  • Has minimum of 5- years industry experience with people management
  • Is an experienced manager with good management skills
  • Frequent travel
  • Worked in facility settings and in outdoor events Preferred Qualifications:
  • Has working knowledge of ESPN’s security equipment, systems, procedures, and standards
  • Law enforcement experience in event planning
  • Strong liaison relationship with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies Required Education: High school degree or equivalent Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree
