Events

• Manage operational tasks related to benefit and stewardship events including preparing mailing lists and invitations, updating fundraising data in database, scheduling meetings and events, conducting donor and prospect research, drafting agendas and correspondence, taking RSVPs and making follow-up calls, and updating event web pages
• Research and propose ideas for relevant and engaging event speakers
• Assist with the processing and preparation of acknowledgement letters for event contributions in a timely manner
• Manage event calendars, oversee staffing needs and responsibilities for events, create memoranda for Senior leadership in advance of events

Development Associate, Development Events

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Supports daily budget operations by executing transactions like budget amendments, journal entries, costing allocation changes, and budget requests, adhering to financial plans and cost-effective techniques
• Generates monthly and quarterly variance analyses comparing budgeted amounts to actual performance, identifying deviations and providing insights for financial oversight and decision-making
• Assists in providing financial analysis and guidance to department managers, enabling informed decisions aligned with financial goals and strategic objectives
• Assists in supporting a rotating portfolio of coverage, initially focusing on Branch Libraries, to develop a comprehensive understanding of all budget areas

Budget Analyst

Operations

• Oversee the client-facing technology products and services delivered to staff and patrons including, Modern Workplace, Desktop Engineering, and Solutions Engineering.
• Modernizing and operating the Library’s staff and public facing endpoint environment, including Windows and macOS devices, and leading the transition to cloud-based device management.
• Coach and mentor engineers on modern endpoint management practices across Windows and macOS platforms.
• Partner with IT Product Management and Cybersecurity on priorities and delivery.

Software Engineer II – Backend, Digital Asset Preservation and Access

Strategy

• Reporting to the Chief of Staff of the Digital Department, the Digital Strategic Initiatives Lead will play a pivotal role in supporting operations and driving high-impact strategic initiatives across the entire Digital team.
• This position acts as a critical enabler, helping the Digital Leadership Team (DLT) maintain organizational alignment, quickly innovate, and efficiently manage risk.
• This role will help support a variety of initiatives, including preparing for board and trustee meetings, orchestrating leadership and team off-sites, and defining our overall approach to risk management.
• Prepare and finalize all memos and presentations for Digital board meetings
• Champion employee experience through supporting and structuring Town Halls, All Hands meetings, and targeted internal cultural initiatives.
• Define and establish a clear, department-wide risk management framework, including procedures for coordinating with Legal to proactively identify and mitigate systemic risks.
• Develop clear practices and procedures to help drive risk awareness and understanding across the broader Digital Department.

Business Analyst

• Support the work of NYPL Digital’s Data Platforms & Access team toward the major initiative of Data Transformation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and gather business requirements, document relevant workflows, data definitions, and provide recommendations to Product Managers
• Help communicate Data Platforms & Access strategy and domain language to NYPL staff
• Collaborate with the Data Analyst to increase access to data in our platforms
• Foster great communication between the Data Platforms & Access team and staff around the institution
