Events

• Overview: The Event Staff position is an essential part of the Public Programming team to help provide quality free and open events for all communities at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (LPA) at Lincoln Center; Public programming produces a dynamic set of both in person and hybrid events designed to engage patrons with our collections and highlight and amplify our mission
• Arrive to shift to get briefed on details and logistics of the day’s specific event and stay until end of program to assist in exiting patrons from the library
• Ensure that set up, check in, and post-event duties are completed in an efficient, resourceful, and timely manner
• Greet patrons and collect or scan tickets
• Provide patrons with programs and other relevant materials for the program
• Escort any patrons requiring seating assistance
• Ensure performance house rules, such as entry, exit, late seating, photography etc. are adhered to

• Overview: Lead technical efforts to expand access and discoverability of public domain and open access materials; build integrations with external sources and internal catalogs; innovate on organization and searchability of metadata; contribute to launch of patron-facing AI product integrating Generative AI and LLMs.

The specialist will be responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of materials to meet order requirements and deadlines. The Specialist will be responsible for developing category / material plans and/or key supplier plans for commodity categories (services and/or goods) and to participate in related projects with key suppliers and/or internal stakeholders. The Specialist will be focused on securing the best total value for procured goods/services, securing &amp; measuring cost savings and efficiencies, and minimizing supply &amp; contractual risk. Specialist will manage the development, review, and onboarding of procurement-related contracts.

• Responsibilities
• Obtain quotes, negotiates with suppliers, and process POs for assigned commodities (services and/or goods)
• Cultivates relationships and is the primary point of contact to assigned internal departments.
• Guides departments through NYPL procurement process. Executes ongoing meetings with assigned departments to ensure the highest degree of support.
• Develops strategic relationships with key suppliers, keeps up with industry trends and identifies best practices for responsible commodity categories and suppliers.
• Collaborates with various departments on analyzing bids for specification compliance, pricing / total cost, delivery commitments and past performance.
