About the role
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping
- Manage trucking and transportation logistics to ensure timely delivery of products
- Supervise and train warehouse associates and drivers, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency
- Coordinate with farmers and suppliers to optimize order deliveries and product availability
- Monitor compliance with food safety regulations and organizational quality standards
- Analyze metrics to identify opportunities for improvement in warehouse and logistics performance
- Maintain inventory accuracy and implement excess and waste management strategies
- Develop and implement efficient processes to maximize warehouse operations and coordinate transportation logistics
- Ensure fresh, high-quality local products reach schools, hospitals, and community organizations in a timely manner
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse and logistics management, preferably in the food distribution sector
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Proven leadership skills, with experience managing teams effectively
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and logistics software
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Experience with route optimization, fleet management, and transportation logistics
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in various warehouse environments
