About the role
- Develop and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures
- Query and analyze large-scale healthcare datasets (claims, pharmacy, patient data) using SQL and other tools
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define data definitions, ownership, and lineage
- Design and build monitoring dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Databricks)
- Develop and maintain automated monitoring jobs to track data quality, system performance, and analytic pipeline health
- Work with big data platforms and tools to manage, process, and analyze high-volume, high-velocity healthcare data
- Monitor data quality metrics and report anomalies or inconsistencies
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment
- Assist in regulatory compliance efforts related to data management (e.g., HIPAA)
- Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of data definitions, validation processes, analytic methodologies, and project deliverables
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or data management roles
- 3+ years of experience working with healthcare data, including claims, pharmacy, and drug data
- Proficiency in SQL and data profiling tools
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Snowflake environments
- Proficiency in SQL or Python and Databricks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, solve problems, and make decisions with minimal oversight
- Ability to identify and prioritize opportunities for impact and develop analytic solutions leveraging technology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Internet connection via cable broadband or fiber (minimum 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload)
- Preferred: Experience with data cataloging and metadata tagging tools
- Preferred: Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA)
- Preferred: Basic proficiency in Python for data analysis
