💰 $216,000 - $323,900 per year
About the role
- Counsel and work as a business partner with engineering and business personnel on IP issues across TE businesses
- Collaboratively work with other IP counsels supporting TE business units in high-speed data/power connectivity application space
- Participate in patent committee meetings and help manage business unit patent portfolios
- Supervise counsel/agents for patent filing/prosecution/oppositions and provide IP trainings
- Support development of IP strategies, perform IP infringement analysis, searching and invalidity analysis relating to product designs
- Be directly involved and oversee US IP litigation and IP disputes, draft/negotiate IP licenses and other IP related aspects of business transactions
- Support IP due diligence activities for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Serve as Americas Region Lead IP Counsel to manage a team of experienced US-based IP counsels
- Contribute to Law Department’s culture, lead by example, mentor/coaching colleagues within IP practice group
Requirements
- Must have a technical undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics
- Must be a fully qualified and registered United States patent attorney
- At least 18 years of experience
- In-house counsel and managerial experience required
- Desirable to have government contract-related experience or exposure
- Significant experience negotiating IP transactions/litigations/disputes/conflict matters
- Ability to engage and work well in a high-pressure, high-speed business environment
- Significant experience in IP aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including integration/divesting experience
- Experience with trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and confidential information
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively both verbally and in writing
