About the role
- Provide vision, leadership and strategic guidance in developing and implementing Bank's products, services and programs
- Oversee, lead and provide strategic direction to a team of product management professionals
- Formulate strategy, policy and overall direction for the product or suite of products portfolio
- Build and maintain effective relationships with sales distribution, key internal stakeholders and external partners
- Develop and manage the product development calendar and oversee execution of deliverables
- Lead market and customer research, ideation sessions, and build business cases for NPD
- Manage product development budget, P&L and deliver financial results via pricing, margin, volume levers
- Create product roadmaps and plan product solutions that meet targeted customer needs
- Partner with marketing and channels to develop acquisition and retention programs
- Ensure products meet regulatory requirements and maintain a culture of risk management and control
- Recruit, set targets and objectives, develop staff, and manage employee performance for the team
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or product management certificate and/or 10+ years relevant experience
- Previous Product experience required
- Experience in leading strategy strongly recommended
- Advanced knowledge of and ability to conduct product research, product analysis and development, forecasting, pricing, competitive intelligence
- Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement and evaluate program/project activities
- Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the product management function and provide advice to senior leadership
- Ability to forecast initiatives and demand in order to develop annual strategic product plan
- Skill in mentoring, coaching and performance management
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
- Skill in preparing and managing budgets, P&L and resource allocation
- Knowledge of and/or skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
- Skill in using computer applications including MS Office
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
