About the role
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Workday configuration and integration engineers, providing career guidance and performance management
- Drive the technical strategy and roadmap for Workday implementations, upgrades, and ongoing platform optimization
- Oversee complex Workday integrations with internal and third-party systems using Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, and APIs
- Manage Workday configuration across HCM, Payroll, Talent, Compensation, Security, Recruiting, Benefits, and Time and Leave Tracking
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and business leaders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes for Workday development
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues
- Plan and execute Workday release management activities, including testing strategies and deployment coordination
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, user experience, and operational efficiency
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with Workday support
- Participate in budget planning and resource allocation for Workday-related projects
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy regulations, and internal governance standards
- Lead M&A Integration projects to onboard acquisitions into Workday
- Lead platform modernization efforts including automation, orchestration, AI integration, and Workday Extend/Studio capabilities
- Build and mentor global, remote teams with focus on coaching, succession planning, and people development
- Foster strategic partnerships across COEs, Experience Owners, Product, and Technology teams
- Establish governance frameworks, design standards, and KPIs to elevate platform maturity and delivery quality across the Workday ecosystem
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field
- 8+ years of hands-on Workday configuration and integration experience across multiple functional areas
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Deep expertise in Workday Studio, Workday Extend, integration tools, and custom reporting capabilities
- Workday certifications in relevant functional areas (HCM, Integration, Security, or Payroll preferred)
- Highly collaborative and adaptable mindset with comfort navigating ambiguity and changing priorities
- Analytical problem-solving approach with attention to detail and quality and a commitment to continuous learning
- Knowledge of HR and Finance business processes and industry best practices
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle Workday implementations or major system upgrades
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
