About the role
- Navigate and use Xero for all day-to-day bookkeeping activities
- Perform bank transaction coding and reconciliation
- Manage Accounts Receivable (invoicing, follow-ups, allocations)
- Handle Accounts Payable (bill entry, payments, supplier reconciliation)
- Support and manage data entry and maintenance of accurate records
- Use Simpro for invoicing and job cost tracking.
- Assist with or help create Xero Payroll processes
- Contribute to BAS preparation, cash flow tracking, and month-end reporting
- Provide ad hoc support to the finance team as needed
- Perform other job-specific duties as required by the onshore accounts team
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience, ideally in trades, construction, or field services.
- Xero Certified (required) ; Xero Payroll Certification (preferred).
- Experience using Simpro.
- Strong understanding of GST, BAS, and Australian payroll requirements.
- Experience creating or improving Xero Payroll processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills.
- Independent, reliable, and professional in a remote work environment.
