About the role
- This role entails active leadership in M&A strategy development and deal origination, execution, and integration for Synchrony Financial.
- Responsibilities include relationship management with investment banks, deal origination, screening and analysis, recommendations to Executive Leadership, leading due diligence teams to execute and close transactions.
- Assist in the integration of acquired companies and be a leader of deal teams for acquisition opportunities.
- Develop strategic rationale and recommendations for acquisition opportunities.
- Maintain relationships with investment bankers, advisors, and financial services executives.
- Originate acquisition opportunities and build a robust pipeline of deal activity.
- Lead the structuring and analysis of acquisition opportunities.
- Formulate and present investment theses and recommendations to Executive Leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years relevant experience in corporate development, investment bank, and/or private equity investing in financial services and/or payments or consumer lending; or in lieu of completed degree, HS diploma or equivalent and 12+ years of relevant experience in the same fields
- 5+ years’ experience leading cross functional teams in corporate development or M&A capacity
- 2+ years’ experience with financial analysis including modeling, underwriting, due diligence, documentation and negotiations
- 5+ years’ experience independently leading origination, due diligence processes, performing financial analysis, preparing investment memos and developing recommendations for senior management
