💰 $78,800 - $120,000 per year
About the role
- Perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property for power equipment, including preventive and remedial maintenance
- Manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering activities and logistics
- Provide technical direction and guidance to craft labor in support of power equipment outages
- Troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems from field devices to control systems and networking
- Plan and execute field engineering work within standard functional practices and procedures
- Coordinate with customers, suppliers, GE project management and engineering communities to deliver work
- Document work, report status, and contribute to planning and execution of maintenance programs
- Apply technical expertise to solve problems and propose solutions with guidance
- Support professional development and provide informal guidance to new team members
Requirements
- Industrial automation, Electrical, or electronic engineering degree from an accredited university or college OR High School Diploma / GED and a minimum of 4 years of industry experience
- Minimum 4 years of field engineering experience in power generation, industrial plant automation, PLC or similar industry sectors
- Ability to troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems at all levels, from field devices to control system and networking
- Ability to generate immediate credibility with customers, suppliers, GE project management / engineering communities
- Strong customer focus, interpersonal and computer skills
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, geographically dispersed team environment
- Effective written and oral communication skills with excellent spoken and written English skills
- Customer-focused experience in field services, customer services or project management
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills (desired)
- Controls experience on equipment that functions as a "prime mover" (desired)
- Electronics and/or mechanical troubleshooting skills (desired)
- "Hands-on approach" and prior mechanical/maintenance experience preferred
- Computer skills; familiarity with MS Office and TCP/IP configuration
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (employment conditioned on successful drug screen as applicable)
