About the role

  • Support management and maintenance of Veterans Affairs IT infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues and ensure optimal performance and security
  • Execute scheduled maintenance and upgrade activities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, government leadership, and engineering teams to design, maintain, and optimize server environments
  • Proactively monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and implement solutions to enhance reliability and security
  • Oversee access controls, backups, and firewall management to ensure security compliance
  • Lead administration of network servers and technology tools and establish/configure user accounts and workstations
  • Execute system upgrades and maintain internal documentation and monthly POA&Ms for ATO packages

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/public trust clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field with 12+ years of relevant experience (or commensurate experience)
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and internal cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of consolidating national clinical and administrative datasets
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools
  • Evaluate and resubmit controls for Authority to Operate validation on an annual basis
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall configurations
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
