Ford Motor Company seeking Industrial Controls Engineer for Battery Manufacturing Engineering (BME) team at BlueOval SK Battery Plant
Design, develop, implement, and continuously improve automated control systems for state-of-the-art battery manufacturing processes
Design, program, and test PLC logic (MELSOFT GX Works3 / Siemens TIA Portal), develop HMI/SCADA, and configure industrial networks
Oversee installation, wiring, and commissioning of control panels, field devices, and automation equipment; perform FAT, SAT, and production startup testing
Provide technical support to maintenance and operations; perform root cause analysis and minimize downtime
Identify and implement process optimization, control strategies, and automation enhancements; integrate Industry 4.0/IIoT technologies
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards (OSHA, NFPA 79, NEC, ISO 13849); create and maintain documentation (schematics, PLC programs, HMI screens, network diagrams)
Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, process, IT, operations, and vendors; participate in design reviews and project planning
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or closely related field, or an equivalent amount of experience
Experience in industrial controls systems design, development, programming, and commissioning within a manufacturing environment
Proven proficiency in PLC programming with at least one major platform (e.g., Mitsubishi MELSOFT GX Works3, Siemens TIA Portal)
