• Own data from source to delivery. Design ingestion from source systems into BigQuery with Airflow (Cloud Composer), Dataflow, and Python loaders; model it in dbt; and deliver the analysis in Hex. No handoffs, no "that's not my layer."
• Build for 10x. We're growing fast, and the data is growing with us. Every pipeline and model you ship should survive the volume multiplying in the next few months. Reliability, cost, and partition strategy are part of the design, not an afterthought.
• Explain what's driving the numbers. When a metric moves, you find out why. You can trace a number from a Hex dashboard back through the dbt models to the raw source and tell the business what actually pushed it up or down.
• Work AI-first, and own the output. You lean hard on modern AI tooling (coding agents, LLMs) to move faster across the whole stack, but you stay accountable for what lands in production. You know the difference between letting AI draft and letting AI decide, and you keep correctness, cost, and ownership in your own hands. This matters a lot to us.
• Partner directly with business teams. You don't wait for tickets. You understand what growth, finance, and product are trying to learn, get ahead of it, and translate messy questions into models and answers they can trust.
• Manage infrastructure as code. Provision and evolve the data platform with Pulumi, and treat the pipeline as a production system you're on the hook for.
• Stay on the frontier. You actively track what's new in data engineering and AI, and you bring the good tools in instead of waiting for someone to tell you about them.

Senior Data Engineer

• Package software into our supabase/postgres repo using Nix (with flakes), and help us transition our packaging from traditional to Nix packaging more over time.
• Manage PostgreSQL lifecycles, ensuring timely major, minor, and extension upgrades.

• Act as the first responder for security alerts from GuardDuty, dependency advisories, and other detection sources. Assess severity and escalate to the right lead across Platform, Product, Anti-Abuse, or Security.
• Own customer security tickets in Front, including account recovery, MFA reset, GitHub-linked account loss, billing-based ownership verification, and org ownership disputes.
• Participate in the on-call pager rotation alongside other Security Operations Engineers and use documented playbooks to make consistent decisions.
• Maintain and improve runbooks, decision trees, Front macros, and escalation paths. Identify patterns in tickets and alerts to flag opportunities for automation or workflow improvements.

• Stand up the TPM function at Supabase. Define the operating model, the engagement model within product, eng and design, the standards we hold ourselves to, and the bar for the role. Hire and grow the team over time.
• Manage the senior IC TPM and grow the team as the function proves out. Coach, set direction, hold the standard, and protect the team from drift into status-collection or hygiene-on-behalf-of-teams.
• Own the cross-functional interface fabric between EPD and the rest of the company — named seams between Engineering and Customer Success, Support, GTM, PMM, with DRIs on each side, hand-off contracts, SLAs, and escalation paths. This is the unowned gap in the company today and your highest-leverage area in the first year.
• Author the company standard for project management in Linear, and pair synchronously with EMs and program leads on key cross-functional projects to make sure they get broken down against the standard. The standard covers project structure, tagging and labeling, milestone conventions, issue breakdown patterns, and the leadership views we use to read program state. You are accountable for the outcome of that standard in Linear at the company level.
• Hold the line on accountability. EMs are accountable for delivery and for the project management discipline on their teams. Your team authors the standard and supports synchronously. You do not let the TPM function drift into doing hygiene work on behalf of teams; that failure mode is the explicit antipattern we're hiring against.
• Own the dependency graph and launch readiness for our largest cross-functional programs — multi-team launches, major customer migrations, and platform initiatives that span 3+ engineering teams and downstream functions.
• Operate the program-level rollup infrastructure that makes program state legible to leadership without adding load on teams. Status is written by EMs. Your function builds the connective infrastructure.
• Partner across EPD with the heads of Engineering, Product, and Design on a single shared system for how we run work end-to-end, and reinforce the artifact discipline of our delivery operating model.
