Lead efforts to establish standardized freight processes, policies, metrics, systems, and procedures throughout the organization.
Determine optimal policies and procedures to maximize freight recovery and efficiency.
Establish key reporting metrics to identify Spend, Freight Recovery, Carrier Performance/Routing, Accurate invoice auditing.
Improve strategies to reduce freight expenses while providing best in class delivery performance.
Design carrier standards for performance and expectations.
Work with distribution, purchasing, and customer service leadership to guarantee policy conformance and carrier compliance to maximize freight agreements.
Review and approve freight bill exceptions using freight bill pay and audit software.
Utilize freight bill pay and audit software to produce freight reports and analysis.
Reviewing transportation spend data & develop analysis reporting.
Analyze assessorial charges (both small parcel and LTL) and find ways to reduce expenses.
Requirements
Associates degree in logistics, Operations management, or related field, prefer a 4-year degree in Logistics, Operations Management or related field.
5+ years in transportation experience dealing with LTL and small parcel carriers.
Previous experience with freight bill pay and audit processes, reporting tools, and software.
Demonstrated knowledge of International transportation policies and regulations.
Proven successful experience collaborating between various departments and stake holders.
Strong team approach with all levels of management
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
