About the role
- Oversee strategic sourcing and procurement of key commodities essential to business operations.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to drive cost savings and quality improvements.
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and commodity pricing to inform sourcing decisions.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Manage supplier performance through scorecards and regular reviews to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project management to align sourcing activities with project requirements and timelines.
- Implement risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive procurement efficiencies and best practices.
- Monitor and report on commodity market trends, pricing, and overall supply chain performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commodity management, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably in the energy or manufacturing industries.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
- Proficient in data analysis, market research, and price forecasting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
