About the role
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw material, COTS hardware, and outside processing to ensure cost, quality, and delivery.
- Lead sourcing efforts for assigned commodities including supplier identification, selection, and onboarding.
- Negotiate terms with suppliers to secure long-term supply continuity and balance cost, volume, and quality.
- Monitor supplier performance using defined metrics and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with pre-sales engineering, quality, and operations to align supplier capabilities with program requirements.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and transactions within the ERP system.
- Support program schedules by ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Manage supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement.
- Travel (domestic and international up to 25%) to meet with suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Operations, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Supply Chain or related area
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
- Eligibility under ITAR: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or able to obtain Department of State authorizations.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%).
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments with moderate noise and dust.
