About the role

  • Application Director to support application, specification, and sales of S&C Products and Services into the Commercial, Industrial, and Microgrid (C&I) Market
  • Focus on bringing S&C services into solutions sold to the C&I market
  • Southcentral regional responsibilities with collaboration across other C&I application directors
  • Provide technical and commercial support for the sales force; travel with Sales Territory Managers and Representatives
  • Assist in generation and presentation of targeted proposals
  • Provide first-level follow-up on leads generated by marketing and account follow-up
  • Support or initiate contact with C&I end users, specifiers, and contractors
  • Support promotional activities (Expos, Lunch and Learns, IEEE presentations)
  • Work with Sales to drive S&C product specifications in the C&I market
  • Provide feedback to S&C Marketing on proposals, accounts, and competitive situations
  • Provide first-level technical assistance during installation and commissioning of C&I projects
  • Track all C&I RFIs and RFQs in assigned area
  • Engage in start-up, training, and support associated with company equipment
  • Assist with strategizing, follow-up and closing orders as required by Sales Territory Managers
  • Position reports to the Regional Director-C&I Sales

Requirements

  • Experience with power systems predominantly at medium voltage and switchgear products
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree or similar technical degree, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel extensively (50% required)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple long-term sales opportunities
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • High proficiency with computer software and applications - MS Office & Salesforce.com preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, salespeople, and S&C product/service personnel
