About the role

  • The Expense Manager is responsible for the daily processing of relocation expenses for TRC Global Mobility.
  • Works closely with the Accounting and Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate audit and payment of relocation-related expense reports from transferees and invoices from vendors.
  • Assess and implement processes to ensure accuracy of work and efficiency; Serve as initial escalation point for Expense Analysts on client and customer expense issues.
  • Develop reports as needed to manage the department and meet the needs of the company and/or clients using Movetrack, Excel, Tableau or other reporting tools.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform essential functions of the Expense Analyst and provide coverage when needed or appropriate.
  • Provide appropriate escalation of issues and reporting as required by Executive Management.
  • Recruit and develop employees to ensure appropriate bench strength to meet future needs of TRC.
  • Provide feedback to employees on a regular ongoing basis, including but not limited to annual performance reviews.
  • Develop and promote a sense of teamwork and collaboration within the department.
  • Perform employee management functions in accordance with policies and practices.
  • Implement process improvements as needed to achieve efficiency and effectiveness for the Expense Team.
  • Demonstrate a "lead by example" mindset through respectful and effective communication, work ethic, quality of work, innovative thinking, and collaborative work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in finance or accounting
  • 3+ years of finance or accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or accounting
  • Previous relocation industry experience
  • Previous management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop technical business correspondence
  • Work under minimal direction, be organized, and prioritize commitments or projects
  • Strong customer relations skills that include the ability to work with discretion and integrity
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Strong project management orientation with ability to assess scope and mitigate risks
  • Ability to interact effectively at senior level of organization
  • Ability to think strategically and implement tactically
  • Position requires off-hours flexibility (rare occasions)
