About the role

  • Executes communications strategies aligned with the strategic direction of the business
  • Supports the creation of messaging and content for senior leaders in internal and external engagements
  • Develops and refines communications best practices, strategies, plans, and related toolkits
  • Contributes to defining measurable goals for communications initiatives and tracks performance using established metrics
  • Assists in implementing strategies that enhance access to information for internal and external stakeholders and uphold Stryker’s corporate reputation
  • Partners with Senior Strategic Communications Manager to develop messaging for business unit announcements, leadership updates, and town halls
  • Writes and edits a range of business communications, including scripts, announcements, and internal content
  • Coordinates with external agency partners and internal communications teams to support business goals
  • Hybrid role with expectation to be based near Flower Mound, TX or Phoenix, AZ or Denver, CO and travel ~20%

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing communications, public relations, or a related field
  • 4+ years of work experience
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven expertise in writing and editing in AP format
  • Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and AP style rules
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines
  • Ability to be persuasive in the absence of organizational authority
  • Must be able to understand and work within complex interdivisional procedures and policies
  • Experience in internal communications such us messaging for announcements, leadership updates, and town halls
  • Understanding of internal communications policies, compliance, and brand strategy
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in marketing communications, strategic communications, internal communications, or a related field preferred
  • Preferred: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and Adobe programs, including Marketo
  • Preferred: Design experience preferred
  • Preferred: Attention to detail and demonstrates the ability to follow up
  • Preferred: Experience creating communication plans, and a track record of hitting key performance indicators
  • Preferred: Proven track record of high performance
  • Preferred: Experience working in healthcare organizations
