About the role
- Report to the Critical Facilities Manager and support day-to-day operations of hyperscale, multi-building data center campus
- Ensure uptime, reliability, and performance of critical facility systems
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and fire/life safety systems
- Monitor Building Management System (BMS) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) dashboards for alarms and anomalies
- Perform BMS operations and analyze data to ensure proper function of critical systems
- Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on UPS, FCUs, CRAH/CRACs, chillers, generators, and electrical switchgear
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for equipment activity and site issue resolution
- Coordinate site-wide activities with operations, engineering, network, and project teams
- Participate in technical training, certifications, shift handovers, team meetings, and post-mortem reviews
- Escort vendors and contractors during maintenance or installations, ensuring badge compliance and activity logging
- Comply with Stream Data Centers departmental and EHS policies and procedures
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in an industry that includes operations & maintenance
- Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method of Procedures (MOPs), and their application to work orders
- Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Working knowledge of mechanical, controls, and fire and life safety systems
- Proficient with computer systems including documents, spreadsheets, and email
- 5+ years’ experience in a critical operations environment (preferred), preferably in the data center industry
- Experience scheduling and planning maintenance for large-scale, complex systems in an operations environment (preferred)
- Ability to perform physical tasks including moving heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds), operating critical infrastructure, crawling in tight spaces
- Ability to work in noisy environments with ear and eye protection; potential to work at heights and from ladders
- Ability to perform extended site rounds involving long distances of walking and extended periods away from a desk
- Ability to use hands to manipulate small wires and objects
- Willingness to work 12-hour night shift (7PM-7AM)
