About the role
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential independent agencies
- Drive revenue growth by selling products and services through communication at agency locations
- Proactively build new agency relationships through prospecting and recruiting new agencies for appointment
- Manage agency production and claims experience through report analysis and follow-up to assure sales objectives are achieved
- Analyze sales metrics and performance data to identify improvement areas and develop strategies
- Establish regular meeting schedules and conduct in-person agency visits
- Facilitate training for agency personnel on company products, systems, internet-based technologies, and new sales techniques
- Act as liaison between agencies and company to communicate changes and develop new and renewal sales opportunities
- Partner with underwriting and claims to support account-level decisions and mentor underwriters on agency dynamics
- Lead sales presentations and negotiations with key clients and prospects
- Develop and implement growth, rehabilitation, and termination plans for agencies when necessary
- Assist agencies in resolving complex complaints regarding underwriting, claims service, or other internal areas
- Collaborate with all company departments to provide excellent service to agents and policyholders
- Consistently act according to customer experience standards, demonstrating empathy, ownership, and timely responses
Requirements
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to travel frequently (75 - 80%), including overnight state travel (15 - 200-mile radius) (territory is Western Washington)
- Property-and-casualty insurance company sales and marketing experience or equivalent agency-facing property-and-casualty industry experience
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment, and software packages
- Proficient in negotiating and leveraging in business transactions
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain insurance terms, policies, and procedures to agency partners
- Ability to actively listen and understand customer needs and concerns
- Proficient understanding of insurance regulation and compliance requirements
- Ability to serve and co-lead project groups to evolve coverage, policies, and procedures
- Proficient understanding of risk management concepts
- Bachelor's degree in business or marketing (experience in lieu of degree acceptable)
