About the role
- Lead and mentor less experienced proposal managers and marketing specialists
- Assist DNCPL and Director of Business Development and Strategy with organizing and prioritizing proposal workload
- Oversee creation of persuasive text and graphics, writing key sections
- Maintain strong working relationships with technical staff and senior leadership
- Define proposal structure and organization per RFP/RFQ instructions
- Participate in writing project descriptions, personnel qualifications, and management planning
- Coordinate development of and communicate schedules for proposal completion
- Understand RFP/RFQ instructions and complete supplemental forms/requirements
- Support development of subcontractor teaming agreements
- Craft and organize data calls to subcontractors
- Track and communicate RFQ/RFP amendments
- Edit and rewrite proposal sections

- Strong proficiency in writing, editing, proofreading, and layout skills
- Proficiency in use and application of Microsoft Office applications
- Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Deltek Capture Management a plus
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent proposal assignments
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including Principals, management staff, and support staff
- Bachelor’s degree in English/Communications/Journalism/Marketing preferred
- Fifteen or more years of relevant professional experience writing proposals in response to DOD/federal government RFQ/RFPs
- Experience in strategic proposal management and production in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing teams with demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and provide constructive criticism
