About the role

  • Join a small but extremely talented team to define a new kind of video game experience.
  • Work alongside top minds in the industry and world-class multi-modal researchers and engineers to build anime characters players will adore.
  • Serve as an early team member with significant artistic and research freedom to shape a potential video game or interactive visual novel.
  • Develop 3D narrative/puzzle game systems in Unity and contribute to 3D character animation and mocap workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with AI researchers and engineers and integrate the latest generative AI research (including LLMs) into gameplay and character systems.
  • Prefer on-site collaboration in our primary research offices in downtown Akihabara, Tokyo, or San Francisco; participate in international, cross-office teamwork.

Requirements

  • Independently developed 3D narrative / puzzle games in Unity (bonus points if the game is first-person and/or publicly available).
  • Proficiency in 3D character animation (bonus: experience with mocap and understanding of mocap workflow; bonus: assets on the Unity store).
  • Interest and excitement about the potential of Generative AI; experience working with LLMs is a plus.
  • Passion for anime and the anime aesthetic.
  • Comfortable working on small, fast-paced, close-knit teams; preference for on-site collaboration in Tokyo or San Francisco.
  • Willingness to relocate to San Francisco, CA or Tokyo, Japan if necessary; visa sponsorships available for qualified candidates.
