About the role
- Provide direction to Community Managers and guide the department to deliver service meeting or exceeding client expectations
- Manage, lead, and develop a team of Community Managers and other staff; provide ongoing development, training, and coaching
- Become the technical expert on Texas Property Code
- Manage daily activities including determining Community Manager work assignments and reviewing employee activities for completeness, accuracy, and effectiveness
- Develop relationships with Boards of Directors and solve escalated homeowner challenges
- Work closely with the Division Director on staff development, customer portfolio, and division direction
- Handle frequent customer evening board meetings and site drives to learn properties served
- Fiscal management, presentation skills, negotiation, HR requirements, conflict resolution, planning, and legal requirements
- Attend occasional evening meetings (typically 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and drive for Spectrum AM as needed
- Report to the Division President for Client Relations and follow company office hours (Mon–Fri 8 a.m.–5 p.m.)
Requirements
- At least 6 years of solid leadership and management experience
- Have led a team with ten employees or more for at least 6 years
- Bachelor degree from an accredited school (4-year degree)
- Willingness to attend some evening meetings once or twice per week (typically 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.)
- Servant attitude and talent for team development and motivation
- Competitive and quality oriented; deadlines and accuracy matter
- Ability to return all customer calls and correspondence the same day
- Ability to manage a demanding service product with deadlines and legal requirements
- Become the technical expert and specialist on Texas Property Code (knowledge required on the job)
- Experience creating budgets and reviewing financials
- Experience with property project management (ex. bids and contract negotiations)
- Willingness to work out of local office for the first year and commute to San Antonio office
- Valid auto insurance coverage with policy limits of at least $100,000 per accident and $50,000 per person for bodily injury (proof required at hire)
- Ability to work full-time, more than 40 hours per week (salaried, exempt)
