About the role

  • Manage new product development activities tied to supply chain and manufacturing from concept through product launch (EVT, DVT, PVT), including goals, objectives, deliverables, schedules, resources, budgets and program governance
  • Work closely with internal hardware/software engineering teams and externally with strategic partners and contract manufacturers
  • Manage contract manufacturing activities domestically and offshore; proactively identify and mitigate risks
  • Determine and track dependent action items/steps needed at suppliers and contract manufacturers, including material readiness, equipment/tooling, NRE/CapEx, test systems and infrastructure
  • Serve as key point of contact and source of truth for BOM and sourcing/purchasing activities for mechanical parts; align Mechanical Engineering and NPI Manufacturing teams
  • Help drive quality improvements in the product and with contract manufacturers and suppliers
  • Ensure resolution of technical issues impacting schedule across Engineering, quality, manufacturing test, suppliers and contract manufacturing partners
  • Report directly to the Director of NPI Programs and be an integral part of the Supply Chain & Manufacturing organization

Requirements

  • 6-9 years of experience in various functions in NPI Program Management, Operations
  • Program Management, Hardware Program Manager, Contract Manufacturing Manager experience
  • BA or BS in engineering or supply chain management or equivalent experience
  • The ability to think strategically with confidence and speed
  • A detailed understanding of NPI timelines and potential levers to improve cost and schedule
  • Experience working with large CMs (Contract Manufacturers), preferably in the US, Mexico and Asia
  • Experience launching a product from concept to mass production
  • Experience working at a startup
  • Deep breadth of experience working with component suppliers directly, with both a program management and sourcing mindset
  • Bonus: Solid track record working with suppliers based in South East Asia and Central America
