Staff Product Manager – Fleet

• Define a product vision that impresses users and inspires the development team
• Own full roadmap of device software, cloud software, and mobile apps
• Drive implementation of roadmap with software team
• Write product requirement documents that clearly communicate key objectives

Senior Software Product Manager

Field Engineer

• Respond within the agreed upon timeframe (SLA) to issues escalated from Tier 1 and 2 and to responses from customers
• Shepherd issues through to resolution with a sense of urgency, coordinating with all the necessary partners, including support, engineering, customers, and installers.
• Collaborate with teammates on handling challenging troubleshooting issues
• Participate in feedback loops (e.g. retrospectives) with Engineering and Customer Support
• Use non GUI product access paths and tools (SSH, CLI) for higher level troubleshooting
• Create and run basic scripts and light coding for queries into the product and various databases

Outside Sales

• Manage inbound interest from prospective installer & distribution partners—engaging leads, qualifying fit, and guiding them through early-stage sales conversations, leveraging your strong influence and persuasion skills.
• Deliver clear, tailored pitches that highlight SPAN’s product value and program benefits, adapting your discussions based on the customer’s needs and business opportunities.
• Lead onboarding and activation calls for newly authorized partners with your strong communication skills and business acumen.
• Enable existing installer & distribution partners to deepen their engagement and increase their SPAN sales volume.
• Participate in key market visits (~8-15 days/month) to support field events, trade shows, trainings, sales calls, partner ride-a-longs, or site visits.
• Use Salesforce to track engagement, funnel conversion, and activation status in your territory.
• Regularly analyze pipeline and territory-level metrics to identify top opportunities and bottlenecks, applying strategic thinking and keen business acumen.
• Maintain clean, accurate CRM data and contribute to team-level forecasting, showcasing excellent planning and priority setting.

Territory Sales Manager

Business Intelligence Developer

• Architect, develop and manage business intelligence solutions for SPAN.
• Build reports and dashboards to show key performance indicators (KPIs) across business areas and maintain them on an ongoing basis, including auto-generated weekly business and fleet performance reports and other trended key business inputs for SPAN management consumption.
• Surface insights from multiple data sources to support complex financial and operational analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams whose members include Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Product, People, and Finance.
• Act as a consulting resource for data architecture and data model creation across the enterprise.
• Create and maintain documentation for the BI infrastructure that includes the design, requirements and user manuals for the organization.
• Provide recommendations to leadership on best practices and continual improvement in BI and systems landscape.

Business Intelligence Analyst

Director

• Partner with the VP of Support & Services to develop a vision for SPAN’s approach to field service for all sales channels (solar and storage, new homes, utilities, etc.) and approaches to a third-party, field service network. Bring your vision to life by creating that field service network, including partner sourcing, diligence, and evaluation. Participate in contract negotiation and performance expectation definition. Manage these partner relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with key internal cross-functional partners to drive field service and service parts strategy, decisions, processes, and tooling, especially, but not exclusively, related to the launch of new products and the sunset of products that are being retired.
• Oversee the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our field service documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs), including but not limited to external resources for service parts replacement, SOPs for third parties, and internal processes/policies.
• Build playbooks for - and manage - quality events and field investigations or part replacement activities if necessary. Analyze data related to field service activities to drive key decisions.
• Oversee the handling of customers’ field service requests. Be an escalation point for advice and decisions as needed as the team handles customer requests for parts. Manage these activities to ensure we consistently deliver an excellent customer experience.
• Judiciously administer warranty claims and advise Customer Support agents on warranty questions/concerns. Manage SPAN’s warranty claim processing and warranty tracking holistically.
• Manage inventory of service parts, including projecting inventory needs and then collaborating cross functionally on packaging development, procurement, and setting up parts with our third party fulfillment center and internal/external systems.
• Enable and support distributors and other third parties in stocking service parts.
• Build deep knowledge of all SPAN products, their evolution over time, and their field applications, ensuring you and/or your team are expert resource for Customer Support and Service Engineering on product installation questions as well as service parts compatibility.
• Develop a suite of key performance indicators (KPIs) for both Field Service and Utility Delivery/Support. Monitor, measure, and improve those metrics over time. Regularly assess utility program outcomes, implementing improvements as necessary to enhance effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with your Customer Support and Service Engineering management peers to ensure alignment in process and philosophy of handling customer issues.
• Oversee the planning and execution of large-scale utility deployments, ensuring seamless coordination across internal cross-functional teams, utility partners, and external stakeholders. Establish clear milestones, manage risks, oversee the budget, and drive operational excellence to ensure successful implementation and adoption. This operational enablement phase will include items like utility customer onboarding, third-party training, hardware deployment, support model definition, coordinating joint marketing efforts, and software set up.
• Work closely with counterparts in Commercial (e.g. strategic account owner who owns the commercial relationship) and Customer Support (e.g. technical account engineer responsible for operational account management) to ensure the utility's seamless cycle throughout key phases of the relationship: commercial, delivery, and support.
• Create playbooks for utility delivery by defining workable models for large scale utility deployments.
• Support the definition of SPAN’s business plan for utilities, including the design of service packages (field service, support, software, etc.), pricing structures, and value propositions that align with market needs and standards. Conduct market analysis and gather stakeholder feedback to refine offerings and ensure long-term program success.

Director of Field Service – Utility Delivery

Backend Engineer

• Design and develop new features and subsystems in the SPAN Cloud to support a variety of end users from homeowners, installers, fleet and utility partners.
• Work cross-functionally with product and design teams to learn about our customers, identify solutions and develop the features that solve their needs
• Collaborate between firmware, frontend and backend engineers on projects to seamlessly build a cohesive product
• Work in our Kotlin and TypeScript cloud with gRPC, REST APIs and GraphQL as well as communicating with our IoT devices over MQTT.
• Design APIs and data specifications for internal and external users, including large-scale B2B enterprise clients.
• Mentor and collaborate with team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to elevate the entire engineering organization
• Maintain and evolve services over time, including planning for scaling, major version upgrades, and long-term technical debt management

Staff Backend Software Engineer

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Support the annual budgeting cycle by gathering departmental inputs, validating assumptions, and helping ensure alignment with company goals.
• Conduct monthly Plan-to-Actual analyses for operating expenses (OpEx) and capital expenditures (CapEx); prepare materials for monthly business reviews.
• Maintain and improve rolling forecasts by collaborating with business partners and updating models to reflect current trends and conditions.
• Perform detailed financial analyses on business performance, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Build, enhance, and maintain dashboards and automated reporting tools using Excel and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
